The application deadlines vary depending on the admission type. However, the application period is generally similar from year to year. Applicants are encouraged to check the website regularly. Admission for the Fall semester is divided into two rounds: late September to mid-October, and early February to early March.
If you have not graduated undergraduate yet at the time of application, you can submit an official Certificate of Expected Graduation from your school instead of your diploma.
It is strongly recommended to submit a complete academic transcript or provide other supporting documents. Otherwise, your application may be at a disadvantage during the review process.
IMICS does not provide specific templates for these documents. Please keep in mind, all documents must be provided in English.
Works or papers may be submitted in either English or Chinese. If your original work is in another language, it is recommended to provide a brief description in English or Chinese for clarity.
There are no specific requirements for recommenders. Please choose someone who knows you well and can best speak to your abilities.
NCCU students who wish to transfer to IMICS please contact IMICS office to initiate transferring procedure.
IMICS students, who wish to transfer to other NCCU programs, please contact the program of destination for further information.
The academic year typically begins in September for Fall term and end of February for Spring term.
Admission to USC does not guarantee eligibility for the dual degree program. Applicants must meet the requirements set by both NCCU and USC.
IMICS accepts TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEIC scores (taken within the past three years). Both paper-based and computer-based tests are accepted.
It is strongly recommended that submitted English test results correspond to a CEFR level of C1 or above.
If you are from a country that has English listed as a national language, you do not have to provide proof of English proficiency.
Applicants who graduated from an English-taught program are still required to submit an official English-medium instruction certificate issued by their home university as proof of English proficiency.
If English proficiency test results are not yet available at the time of application, they may be submitted at a later stage. Please send the official score report to the program’s designated email address as soon as it becomes available. Applicants are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and take the test at an early date.
Yes. IMICS welcomes applicants from diverse academic backgrounds, including those outside of communication.
