 Introduction

The International Master’s Program in International Communication Studies (IMICS) is one of four International Master programs offered by National Chengchi University. By pioneering in English-taught Master programs in the field of Communications in Taiwan, IMICS, along with IMBA, IMCS and IMTS, offers an extensive range of courses designed to assist the inquiring mind in the exploration of knowledge.

IMICS accepts both domestic and international students each year with different application approaches. International students can apply for the IMICS program while  domestic students can either choose to apply for the program or join the entrance exam  that is held in February or March each year.

IMICS students can take elective courses offered by other International programs and other departments that use English as the medium of instruction, as long as they conform to the regulations of the respective departments.

Features of IMICS

IMICS focuses on cross-cultural communication studies with an additional emphasis on the Asia-Pacific area. The reputable faculty members come from the Journalism Department, Advertisement Department and Radio & Television Department.

During the period of study in IMICS, both local and international students can interact with each other to increase exchanges among different cultures. IMICS encourages students to orient themselves with international trends based on their own academic backgrounds and interests. Both Taiwan and international students can also apply to go abroad through exchange programs, except for recipients of government granted scholarships.
